Sometimes it’s just not possible to lug your DSLR around all day, so you have to make do with what you have (ie. your phone)… This is what I wore on a lovely sunny day last week, and we went to see The Great Gatsby (which was alright… The costumes were great though). I love this orange dress which I picked up from H&M last month. It was only £15 and I think the style is really flattering and the colour is gorgeous for summer.

Roll on the real summer days when I don’t have to wear tights!

Wow… I cannot believe it’s been over a month since my last post. I’m trying not to get too upset over it, because I want to update my blog when I feel it’s time to, but a month is such a long time! Work is super busy at the moment, but I’m trying not to spend so much time there. Right now I’m getting in at 8am and not leaving until gone 6pm, with no time for a break either. I worked it out and that’s a 50 hour week. I don’t get paid anywhere near enough to be working those kinds of hours! I think when you start to feel anxious about work, you need to step back and have a serious think about why it’s making you feel like that.

I filmed a little haul a few weeks ago (It took me 2 weeks to get round to editing), and another is on it’s way. Now that the weather is getting nice and warm I need to get back into taking more outfit photos, as I think I’ve only done about 5 so far this year! I’ve been thinking about how I can create some exciting content for the blog, and I might do some different sorts of posts around fashion, and I might incorporate a bit of beauty too… who knows?!

And the sun has appeared! After a very, very long winter, spring has finally arrived. I’ve been trying to dress more summery recently with bright colours and floral patterns, but I’ve been slightly standing out due to the dreary weather. Now, fingers crossed, I’ll be able to dress more weather appropriate.

I’ve been super busy (I know, I know…) so I haven’t been able to blog much. I’ve been trying to get around to filming something too, but people who don’t blog don’t really get how long everything takes. If it’s an outfit post you need to put a bit of effort into the outfit, take the photos, edit and then upload the post. And when you’re filming, that takes 10 times longer, especially the editing side of things and then uploading on a super-slow broadband speed (Thanks EE!). I’d love to know how bloggers with a full-time job keep up the blogging on the side too, especially those with a 45min+ commute either way. I know there are ore and more full-time bloggers/Youtubers, who solely do this, but if you have a 9-5 job as well it can get a little draining. I’m an editor for an online retailer, so the last thing I want to do is create more content, and I hate doing anything half hearted…

Anyway, I don’t want to rant. Let’s have a look at the clothes! The midi/maxi floral dress was found in a charity shop last year. I love it, especially in the warmer months. The yellow jumper was a New York find, which makes it over a year old now (wow, I really want to go back to New York!). The boots are Topshop via eBay, and are soooo comfy. I have the black version too, which you’ve probably seen in an outfit picture or two, and I love to war them for work. Finally, the necklace is a Primark special and the lipstick is Ronnie Red by MAC… Lush.

If you haven’t been watching my YouTube videos, you won’t have seen my new hair! I had it all cut off and to be honest I’m still getting used to it. It’s not that I necesarily wanted to go shorter, it’s just the ends were awfully dry and damaged, and I wanted my hair to get into better shape. Something dramatic needed to be done! Hopefully this will mean my hair will grow quicker and I’ll have long shiny locks in no time… Here’s to hoping!

I took a little trip to Primark and picked up this gorgeous coral maxi skirt. I actually have the same style in about 2 or 3 different colours, and they’re great for the warmer months (if it ever warms up…!). For now though, layer it up and pop on your favourite pair of boots. These were kindly given to me by Barratts, and the deep brown hue is great for a transitional wardrobe. The heel is perfect for me too; tall enough to add some height into the mix but chunky so they’re easy peasy to walk in.

Well hello there! Yes, I’ve had time to film another video or two. No, I haven’t had time to take outfit photos. Somehow it seems I can’t multitask. At all.

These are some bits and pieces I’ve used up recently, and what I think about them. I’m becoming quite a beauty pro it seems.

It’s a long weekend here in the UK, and it’s extremely exciting! Yesterday Callum and I wandered into town to hit Primark (is it me or are the ladies clothes really crap at the moment?) and then onto BRGR CO for a fantastic burger and fries. Today’s been a lazy one, although I filmed this didn’t I? Tomorrow we’re off to Cambridge for a family Easter Sunday, and then hopefully another lazy day on Monday before I have to return to the office while Callum has another 2 weeks off work. Lucky duck.

I’m back on Youtube with a big old beauty haul! Because of all the 3 for 2 deals in boots and other newness, I seem to have bought quite a few things recently! I picked up a few bits from the new MAC Archie’s Girls collection, as well as the new MUA Undress Your Skin range. I also have gone a tad crazy on new drugstore lip and nail products… Well, go and have a look at my video to see what I’ve splurged on…

This bag is on the large size, which is something I absolutely love when it comes to handbags. It can fit my very large laptop in it as well as everything else I normally carry around. It’s really sturdy too, and the colour goes with everything! I also love wearing this blue shirt by Topshop at the moment, which my sister gave me for Christmas, it’s perfect for adding colour to an outfit.

On a Monday the North Market in Jordaan, Amsterdam turns into a bustling flea market, full to the brim of vintage finds, collectable items and more, not to mention the many people who come to visit! It really was a busy area, and difficult to get close to the stalls at times, but Callum and I really enjoyed it. The eclectic mix of vintage and cast offs reminded me of the flea markets in New York, which is something we really don’t have much of in London.

The Noordermarket flea market is well worth a visit if you find yourself in the area on a Monday morning!
